It might look serene but there was a nagging north-easterly wind blowing out there today. Here is the view down onto South Field, with the Chilterns as a backdrop:
I am still waiting for a birdless September walk. Thought I might get one today, then this Hobby flashed through:
A mobile flock of 80 Linnets wheeled around Old Barns Field:
Whilst a sheltered hedgerow held a few birds: a late Whitethroat, a Robin and then... a Redstart! Presumably the same bird I found on Saturday, but it was a bit more co-operative today:
Also small numbers of House Martins moving north... strangely.
