...and plummet the temperatures did. We awoke on Wednesday morning to the news that south Oxfordshire had experienced the coldest night in England for many years, an eye-watering -17.7 degrees. The Guardian's coverage of the story is here.
In such temperatures the survival of some birds must depend on garden feeders. This morning my small garden, above, held 10 Blackbirds and 5 Robins waiting for the feeders to be cleared of snow and topped up.
