Poppy fields

We pass through the fields near Chiselhampton on the way back from celebrating Pakistan's famous cricket win today and find them full of flowering poppies:
Cuddesdon, from the poppy fields:We spot an anxious Lapwing in the field edge, but two small brown movements underneath her catch my eye. And sure enough there are two tiny Lapwing chicks. To give the picture below some perspective, the sweetcorn on either side are about 7cm tall:

  1. Sorry mate got it wrong, it is a schedule 1 species and there will be a knock at your door this evening. I've told them to confiscate the camera as you're getting too many good shots !!
