One ray

Another dark, grey morning with barely enough light to even photograph something as big as a passing Roe Deer, let alone a moving bird:
A Marsh Tit in the hedgerow north of the village is a good local record, there was only one in the whole of last year, but there was little else of note. There are now dog walkers even in the fields by the river, leaving very little of this area undisturbed.  Their dogs flushed a single Grey Partridge. I can barely remember when we last saw direct sunlight and the fact it is beating down on the top of those clouds a few hundred metres above our heads means nothing when it doesn't get through. Just one ray of sunshine would be nice, just one...
