Incredible. The first Swallow of the summer flies through and lands on a post right next to me, in bright sunlight:
Yeah right. I took the above picture in Poland a couple of years ago, when I was disguised as a fencepost - there are some advantages to being tall, thin and grey on top. Here is today's Swallow shot, much more "realistic":
This close male Yellowhammer was the only other bird of note:
