Cuddesdon Notspot on BBC news!

A text arrives from Tim in Devon, who had just seen Cuddesdon on the BBC news at 1pm today. In pure symmetry with the philosophy of this blog, the news item was highlighting something that was absent from Cuddesdon, in this case 3G mobile reception, as opposed to birdlife:

"Chris Phillips is training to be a Church of England vicar at a college in the Oxfordshire village of Cuddesdon. He's also a devoted to his Android smartphone - though he's struggling to use many of its capabilities. That's because the village - just a few miles from the M40 - appears to be among our 3G notspots."

Beautiful. Cuddesdon: the birding notspot. It's good to have a new word for nothing. I'll be out notspotting all year...
